Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê (/ˈbèʃë/ /ˈbëzɘ/ [passive] [shoe; boot]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Jithêmênë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê was founded by Adriana Brtheg̈, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê receives an average of 289 cm/y (113 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 8414 m (-15344 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê was founded durring the late 11th century, by Adriana Brtheg̈. The establishment of Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of crampt flagstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

A look around Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê is like a look into a broken heart. There is no planning, no organization. Everyone here clearly goes about their own thing with little thought to anyone around them who isn’t selling something they need. It’s not malicious. Heads are hung. Eyes are empty. Something truly horrible happened here once upon a time and the town never healed.

Civic Infrastructure

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's parks.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

There’s more than one leader in Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by their massive, monolithic and 'blocky' appearance with a rigid geometric style. It was best known for its rough, unfinished surfaces, unusual shapes, heavy-looking materials, straight lines, and small windows. Modular elements were often used to form masses representing specific functional zones, grouped into a unified whole.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê.

Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves bloodletting to channel Invocation energies of tier 3 via singing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê lost 135 people, 170 livestock, and 65 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 183, when members of Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific cashe of materials to a particular depot unharmed. The operation was complicated by extremely dangerous terrain, including unfamiliar and poisonous plants which many ate while foraging. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a stalemate for Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Bèshë-bëzê Fêqê's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
